How do I Swim for Team Hydro?!

If you would like to participate as a Team Hydro swimmer, we’d LOVE to have you join us!! We welcome, any and all interested swimmers, sponsors, and on-land supporters to join our ranks!

We are currently filling our roster for the Alcatraz (August 2017 (registration full–but email us!) and Boston (September 2017) Sharkfest swims!!  Simply choose an event, and register for the Alcatraz, or Boston Sharkfest swim at the following (sharkfest swim) link:   http://www.sharkfestswim.com/

When registering for Sharkfest, be sure to “check the box “Join Team Hydro” on your registration! (All Team Hydro members will receive a special Team Hydro/Sharkfest cap donated in support of our cause by Sharkfest organizers).

Swimmers will note that there is a fee to register for the Sharkfest Swims (a separate organization which covers all race logistics and expenses).
There is no fee to join Team Hydro itself!!!
We DO encourage our swimmers to fundraise in support of hydrocephalus research by obtaining sponsors for their swim. However, it is not a requirement.  We are grateful for swimmers simply willing to don a Team Hydro cap, and in so doing help spread awareness of this life-threatening condition!

How do I Fundraise?

Once you have signed up to swim,  (or even if you don’t swim, but want to fundraise for the cause!), please set up a personal fundraising page by accessing the following link: DONATION SET-UP/DONATE

If you need help setting up the page, just let us know!!  We understand that for some of our swimmers the thought of jumping into freezing shark-infested waters, doesn’t make them flinch, BUT  attempting certain tasks on a computer can send them running! No Problem–we’ll help! Email us at info@teamhydro.org!!

Team Hydro  is proud to note that every penny donated to Team Hydro Foundation, will go directly to Hydrocephalus Research! (Team Hydro expenses are underwritten completely by other sources).

We are excited to have you on the team!

Donations can be made anytime here: https://donate.teamhydro.org

Take Advantage of the Team Hydro Info Reference Packet!!

We’ve put together a Great Packet of Information designed to help you share the Team Hydro Message with your friends!  It contains answers to frequently asked questions, information on the condition of  hydrocephalus, and fundraising tips– including a template for a letter you can send to friends and family to solicit funds!

CLICK HERE to read the official Team Hydro Information Reference, with general FAQs about Hydrocephalus and Team Hydro, and help explaining the condition and cause to others!

Interested in Organizing a local Swim for Hydrocephalus?

While open water swimming is a lot of fun, it may not be for everyone on your team. Or perhaps our swims are not in close proximity to where you live.   Not a Problem!   If you would like to organize a Swim for Hydrocephalus event at your local club,  sell “Hydrate for Hydrocephalus” Water Bottles at your snack shack (or do some other fundraiser), we’d love to help you!!   Please contact us at info@teamhydro.org

Organizing a Swim for Hydrocephalus is really quite easy.  It builds wonderful Team Unity!  And we are ready to help you a lot!!  Take a look at what Little Falls Swim Team in Bethesda, Maryland, and the dorset Dolphins in Georgia have done (by checking out their pages under “our swims” on this website)!!  These great teams have found holding a Swim for Hydrocephalus is such a positive experience for the Team , it has become an annual tradition!!

What if I Don’t Swim but Want to Help the Cause Anyway?!

Wonderful!! At Team Hydro we Welcome and are Super Grateful for our On-Land Supporters too!

We understand that not everyone is able (or crazy enough) to jump off the ferry into the Bay… NO WORRIES!!!  Even if you aren’t swimming, you can still raise awareness and fundraise for the cause!   We welcome you to set up a personal donation page, or simply to Donate: https://donate.teamhydro.org

In addition, if you would like to volunteer with us on race day, sell “Hydrate for Hydrocephalus Water Bottles” at a local event, or simply help someone else raise funds for their swim,  email us at: info@teamhydro.org !!!!

We look forward to hearing from you!!

Thank you for helping us “Take a bite out of Hydrocephalus…”!  If you have any questions, ideas, or comments, please email us at info@teamhydro.org.
