The Amazing Dorset Dolphins (and even some of their competitors) to Swim AGAIN for Hydrocephalus in 2018!
In another remarkable show of selfless desire to use their swimming skills to help others, the Dorset Dolphin Swim Team will take to the water once again, on June 23rd, 2018 to seek to put an end to Hydrocephalus!
Demonstrating incredible camaraderie and teamsmanship, the Dolphins, an age group swim team in Marietta Georgia, have even invited neighboring teams from their swim league to swim alongside them in an effort to find a cure for this difficult and life-threatening condition!
These incredible young athletes have personal knowledge of the urgency and need for increased hydrocephalus research as two of their own swimmers, as well as the nephew of one of their coaches are all living with shunted hydrocephalus! These 3 young people have already endured 10 brain surgeries in an effort to treat their condition!
The Team has set a very ambitious goal of raising $10,000 in this their third swim for hydrocephalus!
The event is certain not only to be inspiring, but a lot of fun as well! The swimmers will hear from their teammates living with hydrocephalus, Lilly and Parker, about what it is like to live with hydrocephalus, before swimming as far as they can in a few hours to raise funds for important hydrocephalus research! A DJ –DJ FOXY–will be on hand to spin tunes and keep spirits high, and baked goods and drinks will be sold, not only to fuel the swimmers, but to add more research dollars to the cause!
Team Hydro could not be more excited or proud to have the Dorset Dolphin Swim Team (and all their friends, donors, and on-land supporters) as part of our Team Hydro Family!!
Go Dolphins! Go Team Hydro! Let’s FUND a CURE!
That’s right! On Saturday, June 17, this amazing Team of age-group swimmers (along with willing friends and family) will once again swim as far as they can in two hours to raise awareness and funds for hydrocephalus research! There is no question that this incredible TEAM demonstrates the best of what Swimming has to offer– working together in an effort to use their strength to help others while funding research for this difficult and life-threatening condition!
During the swim, the dolphins will be especially mindful of three special people– fellow Dolphin teammates Lilly (age 6) and Parker (age 8), as well as Charlie, the 1 year old nephew of their Coach, who are all living with the ongoing challenges of shunted hydrocephalus!
Team Hydro could not be more proud of, or grateful for, this amazing Team of Dolphins who are using their strength to serve others, by swimming for hydrocephalus in the Dolphin Dash!!
